What is CodeTyper - the typing speed test built for developers

Most typing tests were not built for developers. They measure how fast you type random English words which has almost nothing to do with how fast you write code. CodeTyper is different. We built codetyper.in specifically for developers who want to measure and improve the typing skill they actually use every day. Not prose. Not random words. Real code, in the language you work in, scored in a way that reflects how coding actually works. Here is what makes CodeTyper different from anything else available: Every snippet is real code pulled from real-world patterns across 18 programming languages including Rust, Go, Java, C++, Swift, Kotlin, Ruby, Bash, HTML/CSS, Scala, Dart, PHP, R, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and SQL. You practice what you actually type not a sanitised approximation of it. Scoring weights accuracy over speed. Raw words per minute is a vanity metric if it ignores errors. Our scoring system applies a meaningful penalty for inaccuracy and rewards consistent rhythm because in real development, steady and accurate beats fast and sloppy every time. Typing DNA builds a persistent profile of your specific error patterns after every session. Which characters you consistently miss. Which syntax patterns break your rhythm. Which key combinations your fingers have not yet internalised. Over time this fingerprint evolves as your skills improve. Daily challenges and leaderboards reset every 24 hours across all 18 languages, giving every developer an equal playing field regardless of how long they have been on the platform. CodeTyper is currently in early access. Join the waitlist at codetyper.in and get access before the full public launch.
